My name is Eddie. I live in sunny Miami,FL with my family. I am the Marketing & New Media Director at Florida International University. This means I get to be creative all day but with a focus on strategic marketing projects and outcomes. I live and protect the FIU brand through campaigns, content creation and social media.

I am a photographer and videographer. I am driven to photography with an insane passion for creating the best photos I possibly can. I eat, sleep and breathe visuals but I am formally trained in the business side of marketing.

I have been a marketing professional for nearly twenty years and have been using social media extensively in marketing higher education for the last four years. In the private sector, I worked on successful marketing projects for Texaco, OKIDATA, Del Monte and Isuzu Motors as an account manager.

With the University of Miami, I implemented a strategic campaigns to improve rankings in addition to launching successful marketing campaigns for health care services.

At FIU, I championed the strategic initiative to build a web communications team and built the university’s social media presence from scratch. I also launched and co-organized the university’s first TEDxFIU event. Managing the brand and implementing logo guidelines go hand in hand with the marketing consulting work I currently manage at FIU.
