I am Merecedes.

  

I like the sound and feel of crunchy fall leaves and thick snow under my shoes.

 

I like to hear stories told by other people, whether it's just reading from a book or made up on the spot.

 

I like to touch things equal amounts of time with my hands and step in sidewalk squares equal amounts with each foot.

 

I like to dip my fingers in paint and trace little shapes in different colors along my arms, legs, stomach...

 

I like the feel of a camera in my hands and the barrier I create when I look through the viewfinder.

  

I don't like sitting too close to my family or strangers, so that our arms or legs are touching.

 

I don't like when I buy any kind of baked good and then after the first bite find out it has coconut in it.

 

I don't like when other people come and work in the darkroom while I'm in there.

 

I like being alone but I don't like feeling lonely.
