I'm that girl. The one with the camera who's always taking pictures. Whether I'm on vacation or on the sidewalk, in my backyard or on a foreign shore, at the restaurant or at the store, at the park or at the party, chances are good I'll leave with a few captures.

I've been dabbling in and interested in photography since high school, when I somehow convinced my mother to buy me an SLR camera (film, remember that?) so I could ace my black and white photography classes. I was also the first person I knew with a digital camera. Remember when developing film required red lights and stinky chemical baths? I do! But I'm thankful for digital cameras, which allow for immediate gratification and much cheaper experimentation.

Today, I stick to Olympus micro 4/3 cameras and lenses, and sometimes, my trusty smartphone — because, as they say, the best camera is the one you have on you.

My goal with these pictures really is to find the beauty in the everyday.
