The Memory Project: Stories of the Second World War, an initiative of the Historica-Dominion Institute is dedicated to creating an unprecedented record of Canada’s participation in the Second World War as told through the first-person narrative of thousands of servicemen and women. The Institute will provide every living Second World War veteran with the opportunity to preserve their memories through recorded interviews and digitized memorabilia. Once completed, these stories will be available for teachers, students and all Canadians, in both official languages, through the Memory Project Digital Archive website. This archive will help inspire Canadians to learn more about Canada’s military history, and the stories of the honourable sacrifices made by fallen and surviving veterans.
