I am a small-town photogragher currently building my portfolio for my business Memories by Shari.

I left the healthcare business after many years to pursue photography. I worked at a local newspaper (The Message) for several months as an editorial assistant but alas, I am a photographer not a writer. I much prefer to let my photos tell the story. The experience I gained is invaluable and I will be forever grateful for the opportunity.

I have taken photography and graphic classes but I am mostly self-taught. I have had the good fortune to mentor with a long-time photographer here in my hometown and I have had the same good fortune to meet talented photographers here on Flickr that have helped me grow.

If you wish to look at my work from the newspaper in addition to the work here on Flickr please feel free to visit www.messagefortheweek.com.

On December 21, I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Craig and Megan Ferguson. One of the official portraits was featured in the January 19, 2009 edition of People magazine.

Dreams can come true.

Summer 2008-The State of VT is creating an interactive map for the State Parks. I did a photography internship with them through the summer of '08, taking photos of the sites and the visitors. My work can be seen at www.vtstateparks.com/htm/PhotographyInternshipProgram.cfm and I will continue my internship with the State of Vermont through the summer of 2009.

I have been on Flickr for almost 6 mos and I have become an addict! Due to this fact I am sorry to say that I am going to limit my contact list from now on. Please do not be offended if I do not add you as a contact.

I like to show photographers respect by taking the time to look at their photos and comment on them. I am quickly reaching the point where the number of contacts is getting high enough that I am missing photos that are coming through and it really bums me out.

As I stated earlier, I am a Flickr addict-I will still be checking out streams and commenting on the photos I like. If I don't add you it doesn't mean I am not looking!
