Testimonials

While I have just now discovered The Stargazer, her images have stricken me almost immediately. She seems to have a very firm grasp of the intelligent use of depth of field, an oft-misunderstood tool. This, combined with her dark, understated, and often minimalistic style make her images beautiful and poignant.

Shelly (TheStargazer) is definitely one of the coolest people in flickrland! She sees the beauty in the simplest of object and can capture it in ways you'd never expect. She is never afraid to try new techniques and every time I visit her photo stream, there is always something new, creative & interesting to enjoy. I look forward to every time she uploads new work : ) I'm personally a big fan of her nature and macro shots, but all her work from portraits to still-life and everywhere in between are absolutely smashing. To top it all off, she is a great person and doesn't just limit her creativity to photography. Instead, she spreads the creative love around to several other artistic mediums including writing, drawing, painting, etc etc.

Shelly has a way of seeing art in things in a way that I don't. She can make even the simplest of subjects into a work of art and in a way that captures emotion. From her quiet-rebel-like self portraits to all of her nature shots, she always inspires me to be a better photographer. I say this not as her cousin but as a… Read more
