I was once given a radiology report that predicted I was likely to die soon from cancer. That was quite a long time ago. After a very dark night of the soul which destroyed all my previous hopes and dreams, I discovered I had been given a gift with color and paint.
Recently I became fascinated with art dolls of all types. To my delighted surprise, I've discovered in their world outlets for combining all my creative interests. I am now an avid collector of ball jointed dolls which can be customized, and Blythe, and...the love seems to branch into new discoveries all the time.
My whole life has been a series of twists I would never have predicted. I look back on memories of many of the dark threads we all hope will never happen. Equally unexpected, and matching the greatest of my childhood dreams, are bright and remarkable threads in the tapestry of my life.
For almost a decade now I've met financial obligations through free lance artwork.
I've learned to keep dreaming, and also to live fully in today as all my tomorrows have had one thing in common. The risen Christ has always been there. Clearly our God knows us very well, as it is often repeated in The divine writings: Do not be afraid. This life can be a scary, stormy place. My greatest accomplishment or skill has been to learn to reach out and depend on Him while I am in today.
"...to know
the love of Christ
that surpasses knowledge..."
~Ephesians 3:19
I am just learning how to use the internet for working out commissions. All I need is an image with fairly clear resolution. Watercolor or black & white mediums are my specialty. Most recently I've become interested in using the tools of photography manipulation along with my traditional works. I am preparing to try my hand [and heart, as that is my main tool when creating art] at painting dolls -- face ups and two dimensional artwork with them as my subject.
I also have just about EVERYTHING yet to learn about photography. Adventures ahead...
