Mel whom I fondly call Melfish, Melicious and Ah-Mel-Zing better known by her flickr alias Melcakes88 has taught me so much about the world of photography, cameras and even editing! I have only known this Cool Cat for almost 2 months and not only have I discovered that she is a talented young woman, but a fantastic, fun loving and attentive friend :) She always has time to listen to my life and always boosts me up when I'm down and laughs with me when things are good. I have not been following Mel for that long, but I am always amazed with the photos she produces in her 365 Project giving me an insight of what is life in that redhead of hers :) I am no expert, but Mel's images are always deeply detailed, her forte is bokeh & conceptual images. They are always stylised by that special touch that stands out from many. Mel's photographs never fail to tell us her true emotions and feelings. We rejoice when she is happy and are sympathetic when things are down. A true artist. There are times when I am jealous with what she produces. Her images hold a familiar tone throughout...attention and concentration. In her photographs she focuses on objects as importantly as though they are people, inanimate objects have personality, a tree in a field becomes a story, flowers in a jar are friends and her budgie as a ninja! Mel is not a confident person in life, always doubting her talent and there are times when I have to restrain from slapping her! Not only has she made it on Explore with her photographs, she has been given an offer to study a degree in Photography. She is one amazing girl that I personally believe (Without bias) that she will go far in life and this opportunity will open many doors for her. I also work with Mel part time at Fat Face and I am thankful that I have met such a true kindred spirit in the movie that is Life! She is a brilliant friend and am blessed to have met her through flickr and work. Good Luck with the Future, you deserve all the happiness in the world!
