Drag to set position!

I am an aspiring amateur photographer. I started with a Nikon D3000 then outgrew it and now use the D300. I use my job to travel and get the opportunities that most other amateurs could only dream of. I just wish I was better that I might get the most out of those opportunities. This is the result.
"Why do you always carry that huge camera around?"
What an absurd question I thought to myself.
If something crazy and amazing happens do you think I'm gonna go back to my tent and get it and come back? I'll miss out!
"But why do you need that much camera?"
Photography is my memory because my own memory
downright sucks!just isn't any good. With photography I can take a moment in time, with my own point of view, and show it to you. With this big ol' camera and my perspective I can manipulate what I have and recreate how that moment felt. The joy, the fear, the anxiety. The downright boredom if it may be. Absolute loneliness and the most pure form of love.
Am I there yet? No. But I am getting there. Every day I get a little better.
