A keen Meccano modeller and collector. My meccano bug started at age 15 and was revisited in the 70's and again in the 90's.

I have always had a keen interest in photography and have a large collection of pentax screwmount cameras and accessories.

I have moved onto digital and tend to use a canon powershot SX100 IS for most work.

recently I have renewed my interest in native orchids and ferns which I collected and studied in the 1960's. With the use of digital media it is now possible to capture great photos of these plants in their natural environments. I notice that taxonomically many of thye plants I knew well now have changed scientific names, perhaps that's progress.

I am also webmaster for the AUCKLAND MECCANO GUILD
