I love sunsets and vibrant, well taken photos, and I love the way some pictures draw you into them, and, like a good book, having you ponder the situation, hoping the story goes a way that is interesting.

I am, in a way, documenting my family, going through hand-me-down photos and finding which are family and which are friends of the family. Some I will never know about, but I keep trying. There is a need there, to identify with the photos, and learn from them. It is sad I waited so long to do this. It seems as if I am missing a vital part of my history by not asking questions when they could be answered.

And since I cannot live totally in the past, I take a few pictures to share my present.

Sometimes it just feels like I am chatting with old friends when a posting is being discussed. I have enjoyed that. Thanks to everyone for being patient with me. I am learning a lot as I check out other's comments and photos. I have much more to learn, too!

If I have learned anything from flickr, it is to look beyond the print, and to see someone as other than what is presented. I wax nostalgic too often, but that is my heart opening up :)

I do have one favor to ask of you, though. If I fave your photographs, please do not make me a contact based on that if you aren't interested in visiting my photostream. I faved it because I like it. A great way to show appreciation is to look over my photos, and if you find one that strikes you as a really good shot, please fave it. We both win that way :)

I am learning daily, trying my hand at a little creativeness, so please feel free to offer honest opinions!

Debbie’s photographs, descriptions and comments always contribute to my day. She is why cameras were invented: to enrich our lives and record those moments that have meaning and more importantly, will ALWAYS have meaning. One precept has been a partner of mine through many years. It is that if you keep your mind open and strive to learn something new every day, you will stay young and lively and best of all, productive. You will note in her Flickr profile that she states: “I am learning daily.” You know she means more than just photography. Thanks, my friend.

I wish to start with saying that Debbie is probably one of the best contacts you could have. She visits and comments with a very loyal pattern. She always has something real and candid to say...not the same mechanical comments. And that is one thing I treasure everytime I read one from her. I am embarrassed to say that I tend to agree to be contacts with too many people and don't keep up because of it. And LOL....I just got through reading her profile...which is something I usually do when making a contact...but somehow it slipped my attention that She is from where I grew up. Dusty dry...west Texas. ....small world. Now if you wish to view her work you will not be dissappointed because this girl has an eye......bringing the beauty of the west forward so people you don't have to ask..."what do you see pretty about dry flat country??" ..LOL!!...been asked that a few times in my life. Debby I wish to end this off with a promise from me saying that I shall never forget to visit your stream...you have lovely work and I am ashamed I have missed so much of it. You are a wonderful person and I truely wish to be a good friend to you!!!!!!!!....hugs.......xxShell
