I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. As a college student at the University of New Mexico, I studied mathematics and eventually recieved my PhD in Differential Geometry. I developed wind energy technology after graduating from college and eventually started my own business. My son Michael, a reserve officer in the U.S. Air Force, called and encouraged me to run for congress. I was elected in 2006 and am proud to serve the people of the 11th Congressional District.
