I love to travel and see more of the world. I combine the standard tour and the path less traveled, get to know the people, culture and cuisine. I wish my vacations were like Anthony Bourdain's the Layover finding the best local cuisine. However, my vacations are more like the Amazing Race living the most in short amount of time, find the best local favorite restaurants, athletic adventures, and taking in traditional culture. Result of USA work culture where we are only allowed 2 weeks vacation time. Asia, Africa, Europe, North America, next stop South America.

I try to make an effort to read the book before the movie because I enjoy different perspectives. I play outdoor recreational sports for healthy exercise and socializing. Rainy nights are movie marathons, pub tours with the guys, or swing/Latin dancing. I would rather play sports than watch them and appreciate intellectual, athletic, tall women. I believe in being polite and have my phone off when in the middle of a conversation.

I work in IT industry where everyone wears jeans, sneakers and t-shirts. If your jeans do not have a rip in them co-workers assume you are going for an interview. I dress for the occasion but prefer comfort and practical clothes. I was once hired on the spot because I showed up in a business suit to the interview. I keep my hours under 40 and have weekends off. I am looking for a woman that has her life together and time to develop a serious relationship.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly, and leave the rest to God. The best sermons are lived, not preached. Live a good and honorable life, then when you get older and think back, you'll enjoy it a second time. I learn about foreign cultures and religion to enhance knowledge about mine. Too preachy? Simply put I try to be a better human being.

If you could change something about yourself, what would it be & why?

What are the five most important things in your life?

Pick up the book nearest to you. Open to page 37, paragraph 2. What is the first sentence (and what book is it)?

How long was your longest relationship?

On a rainy day, what is your favorite thing to do?

What do you think is the biggest mistake that men/women make in their relationships?

Would you rather have trust or love? Why?

What would you cook for a date at home?

Who are you outside of work, family and friends?

What do you feel when you see a piece of art or hear a piece of music?

What awakens your senses?

I have a son that does not live with me. I love kids and spoil my nieces and nephews whenever possible. Growing up I always went jogging with our family dog, German Sheppard/Huskey mix adopted from mspca or buddy dog. I am allergic but go down laughing.

What I’m doing with my life

Enjoying my nieces and nephews growing up so very fast. Competing in Chinese dragon boat races around the world. Asia, Africa and North America so far who knows where the next race will take me.

I’m really good at

Eating, exercising, and researching! I love dining at a good restaurant or cooking for someone special. I exercise in recreational sports which builds an appetite. The best meal is the one shared. Send me your suggestions for your favorite restaurants, pubs, and new finds. Foodies unite! I am envious of Anthony Bourdain and he has my dream job. I thought I ate some weird items while traveling until I watched Andrew Zimmerman on Bizarre Foods.

The first things people usually notice about me

My curly hair. I do not understand the fascination but women want to touch my hair. It must be that run up the Greek mount every morning, a touch of ambrosia, scent of almond, and breath of the sirens. Nothing special I use shampoo and hot water. Ok, I admit it girls love curls. ;-) This means I know more about ethnic hair care than most guys. When you say 2B extensions I know that exact color for braids and where to get it. I also was born with perfect teeth and have never had a cavity. Full set of teeth significant after all those years playing hockey and futbol.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

When I visit a new country or location I immediately notice the cuisine, local drink, music, art, sculpture, architecture, scenic beauty, and if raining the museums. I try the local comfort food and maybe a delicacy or two. Listen to R&B, blues, jazz, Afro-Cuban, Afro-pop, Latin dance music. Quiet Storm on yahoo music radio. I watch foreign movies where I have to read subtitles because dubbing looks too silly. Fortunately the public library has lots of foreign, independent, and artistic movies. Amusing to see the same story repeated in Europe, Hong Kong, Bollywood, and again in Hollywood. TV shows are science fiction, detective, medical, comedy. NPR, Colbert Report, Daily Show, Grimm, Modern Family, Last Man Standing, Bones, House, and similar shows. Read plenty of network engineer online magazines, white papers, and manuals. I read science fiction genre books. For example, not the best but a selection of sub-genres.

The six things I could never do without

food, water, shelter, exercise, intellectual stimulation. Are we looking for hierarchy of needs on primitive level or more superficial level after all basic necessities are supplied?

1. Loving my family especially the little ones.

2. Establishing loving relationships

3. Good food

4. Incredible conversations

5. Intellectual pursuits such as amazing books

6. Embracing those awkward moments that take imperfect people and make them better for knowing each other.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How people can have conflicting points of view. A person that wants something in a mate but does not offer it as well. A woman that says she wants a nice guy but goes after the bad boys. A woman that says men are superficial but then demands a man needs to have his head scraping the ceiling to fit her limited criteria.

On a typical Friday night I am

Swing or salsa dancing. Hanging out with friends at local pub. Summer getting prepared for Saturday hiking trip in White Mountains and Sunday morning Chinese dragon boat racing on Charles River.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I was born in Asia but have dated women of several nationalities. Important to know the persona as well as their culture. I know when not to caress an African woman's hair for it will get your fingers broken. I know when dating an Indian woman how to be personal when alone and professional in public where possible gossip might be generated in the community. How to say phrases in Japanese polite or rude. When new to a language I try to choose my words and intonation carefully. I speak enough Spanish to get myself into trouble. Much as I think I know there is always a lesson to be learned. Life is a growing experience.

Discretion is the better part of valor and honesty is the best policy. There is always more to know about me and I hope about you as well. Many items need to be said in advance but I will leave you with an air of mystery. Please write a complete profile. I appreciate a prolific, talented writer.

You should message me if

You are cogent, gregarious, intellectual, well educated, athletic, mature, self sufficient, independent, highly capable, sensual, passionate, caring, available, modern woman.
