My name is Barry, I'm born and raised in the Dallas, OR area. I took up photography in 2009 at the request of my wife who is a self admitted point and shooter. :) My first real camera was a Nikon D70 with a 50mm 1.8 lens. I quickly realized the potential to share my love for the outdoors through photography. When Jennifer became very ill, basically a shut-in, photography became my therapy. I someday hope to take a few classes and fill in the gaps from my self taught hobby, but until then, I'll just be out shooting. Cheers!

So, I'm starting this new journey with B/W photography this fall, including my own developing. I think that in the end it will make me a better photographer, it slows me down and really makes me think, probably something that I needed! my sharing will decrease but hopefully my quality will increase! I think that one of the things that I love about this hobby is that it never ceases to challenge me.
