Amateur photographer . . . for longer than I can remember; Landscapes, Traditional Musicians, Flowers, Antiquities, Abstracts, 'Herself'', etc.
Founder member of Waterford C.C. in 1972 and Munster Assn. of Camera Clubs circa 1976 (later to become the Southern Assn. of Camera Clubs - covering ten counties). Member of Dungarvan C.C. 2002 to 2008 approx., and founder-member of Carrick C.C. early 2008. Treasurer of SACC for 2007, 2008 and 2009. Also, served one year on National Council of Irish Photographic Federation. Am also a member of the IPF Audio-Visual Group.
Have been quite involved in, and reasonably successful, in competitive photography (inter-club and 'open' competitions), including a small number of 'acceptances' at foreign salons, highlight of which was an invitation - to myself and my late wife, Neansaí, to show our audio-visual work to the San Joaquin Valley Council of Camera Clubs at Clovis, CA., USA. This, after 1st prize in the Irish Photographic Federation annual AV competition in the late '80s. The invitation continued with a 5,000 mile tour of California . . . thanks to my Calif. friend - Dan Sniffin - www.dansniffinphoto.com then President of the Fresno Camera Club.
Have had quite a few of my images published on national TV, in books, calendars, brochures, posters, etc.
Currently using a NIKON D70 with two lenses . . . plus a Manfrotto tripod for most work. Printing all my own work on Epson printers mostly using archival matte paper and ONLY Epson inks. Purchased the Epson 2400 printer in May '08.
