This is a place for me to share with the others here who inspire me, my family across the country and friends to keep in touch.

There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.

Melissa is someone I started following on Flickr because she was a friend of a friend of a friend, back when she was just starting to get into photography seriously, and I've watched as she's gone from just another flickr wannabe to this amazingly talented and driven photographer. There is nobody else who has had the same kind of effect that her drive and natural talent has had on me. She's extremely gifted in a way that I could never hope to be, and her photos always jump off the screen and smack me with their beauty.

Stunning photos. I think it's a little much to add somebody's entire stream to favorites. With Melissa, I am tempted.

one of my best flickr friends. she not only encourages me to be a better photographer, she shares her secrets with me! her work inspires me to do more portraits, because honestly, few people are rockin' flickr with stuff like melissa's. i know she's going to be a famous photographer one day, and she'll totally forget about me, but i'll be able to tell people that the picture of the girl giving the double bird that's hanging in my house is her sister, and she shot it for me, and made me a print and sent it to me. watch her stream. she's got an amazing eye, and it just keeps getting better and better. i adore her. i cannot believe it's taken me this long to write a testimonial for her.

Just when you're sucked into the family shots - the original kid shots - she hits you with a sexy-get-your-hand-off-the-mouse shot of herself doing next to nothing or posed for the effect it delivers. I'm always checking in.

I am always delighted to see new photos from Mayize. I enjoy that her photos range from a typical "mom-shot" to inventive and creative. Her multiplicity/clone shots blow me away everytime and intimidate me to even attempt it.

There are many charming qualities in Mayize's stream; but what always makes me excited about seeing her work is her constant inventiveness. She gets an idea and she acts, and often she experiments. If she'd been around during the Enlightenment she'd probably have been sticking things into her eye-sockets to see how her vision was altered. The Puritans would definitely have burnt her at the stake for refusing to accept the Status Quo. In the nineteenth century Mayize would have been an experimental film-maker. We're just lucky she's around now; finding new ways to look at everyday life.
