I am a mother, an educator and an editor. I love to take pictures. I love to look at pictures - all the qualities of a Flickr addict.

I love my Nikon D70 and most people I know are used to me taking strange photos by now. My daughters are by far my favorite models. Living in Colorado, I am never at a loss for beautiful subjects at which to point my camera.

If you come across some simple comments like "CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" on your photos (especially if they are of animals), please know Maxine (my older daughter) likes to steal away the keyboard and search the tags for kittens, puppies and pandas. (I'm sure they are cute, but when I get my turn on the computer I always try to leave more thoughtful comments.)

As many others have noted, if you are without photos in your photostream or any information in your profile and you favorite photos of my girls, I will likely block you. You might have good intentions, but you just never know.

I appreciate Laura's submissions to the Flickr community. Her compositions are well thought out and most importantly, human. It takes a talent to capture the human condition and I know I look forward to learning more from her.

I so respect this woman’s work. She has a gift; she has an eye. People who express creativity in one area of their life just can’t escape creativity in other parts of their life. Take a stroll thru Laura the writer, professor, mom, photographer’s photostream and you will see this unfold. You will see Laura’s soul in her images ~ those of her girls in particular. She captures their spirits in a way no words can describe. But she doesn’t stop there. Laura sees the mountains, the ocean, the sky and anything that crosses her path in a way only an artist can. I thank whatever higher power is out there (I guess that would be the flickr-gods) that I stumbled upon not only a wonderful artist, but also a fellow pea in the pod and such a wonderful friend!

While laura lives an active life, she still finds time to shot photography. I think her best strengh is family photography. She has a fantastic skill in capturing the joy of the family. Bravo. Keep up the great work.

Through Laura's photographs, I get to vicariously experience life on the other side of the planet. Her warmth and her love for her family shine through all her images. I am grateful for having met Laura here in the flickrverse, and for the chance to share in what her talented eyes see.
