Max Jonas Baginski was born in 1987. He grew up in Dortmund, Germany. At the age of six, he started to take piano and later drum lessons. He was always into music and played in in a few bands. After finishing school he did an internship as a camera assistant at ProSiebenSat.1 in Munich. From 2008 to 2011 he studied Media Technology in Duesseldorf and did an internship at Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) in Cologne as an assistant to the sound engineer. Since 2011 he is living and working in Berlin and is studying Sound Studies at the university of arts (UdK) with a focus on experimental sound design. At the moment he is writing his master thesis about the aesthetics of repetition with the support of Sabine Sanio and Sam Auinger.

Max Jonas Baginski does sound/media installations, sound objects, sound design, sound engineering, design and music. He uses materials like concrete, wood, recycled bulky waste or other daily materials for his objects. In his installations he works with sound,light and air, as well as the room.

 

Max Jonas Baginski's installations and artworks were presented at the Ars Electronica 2012 in Linz (A), a fallow storehouse in Esch (L), at the UdK Rundgang 2012 in Berlin, at the UNI.T in Berlin, at the Tacheles in Berlin, at the academy of Music Hanns Eisler (HfM) in Berlin, at Graf-Adolf-Platz in Duesseldorf and the Deutschland Radio Kultur broadcasted one of his radio features.
