Well, I'm a father of a beautiful, amazing, fantastic girl. I like taking pictures - and hope that I can learn from the exceptional artists and their work here, maybe something will rub off. Until then (lol) I'm using flickr mainly to show family and friends what Mason and I are up to. We use maxandmason.blogspot.com to tie things together with words and pictures.

I really like the Sony DSC-W70 Camera (but we're dreaming of a Canon DSLR in our future - if you have one that you've outgrown, we'd love to make you an offier). I've only been using it since June, 2007 and the pictures are getting better and better - in fact, Mason (12) takes some awesome photos with it and we put those on our Flickr stream too.

If you comment on our photos (thank you, we really appreciate that), we always take the time to look at yours and comment on the ones we like. We also take the time to read your profile too - we are fortunate to have 'met' so many kind and generous people here and look forward to looking at your world, through your eyes.

I'm in the process of "collecting" a bunch of FAVORITE photos here on Flickr - so that when I get that DSLR (my birthday comes up in August ;-) I will first try to duplicate (ok, I'm not that creative - consider it my form of flattery) what I've seen and then, maybe, inspire Mason and other new photographers - hey, it's a goal!

*** Jan. 26, 2008 - We just got a scanner and we've started to scan our thousands of photographs and film strips. Jenny loved taking pictures - but we never used digital before she died, so we're in the process of scanning her world, through her eyes. Mason and I miss her so much :-( Jenny would have loved Flickr.

I've been to every state except for Alaska - hopefully I'll get there someday. Meanwhile, I'll settle for the occassional trip out of the midwest.
