"There was a time when all the shadows of these tall buildings

Would throw their cape around each corner of the grassy fields

And one by one, each huge shade would cover the green with black

Allowing changes that we could not have foreseen

Everybody let us gaze upon the world we've created

Let us rest our eyes upon the great machine, as we wave goodbye

Feel the evening breeze caress us while the cities are dying

As we watch it falling to a modern state, a modern time..."

As a fairly complete depiction of my outlooks and background,

it's this context which drives me to capture the extreme contrasts that we,

as Americans envelope and witness every day.

The depth of their beauty, yet the horror of our shallows

What's bloomed from our bounty soon wilts into fallow.

Like a dog chasing it's tail,

an old man sees the earth

befuddled and drowning in what we're worth

With ways unchanged, the disregard flies on

An imminent hope spans our widespread horizon.
