Matthew Pursel was born March 7 1984 in Atchison KS. He went to grade school and Jr High in Tonaganoxie and High school at Atchison County Community High School (ACCHS) in Effingham, KS. It was during his junior year in High School that he discovered a talent for singing and the passion only grew. He then attending Highland Community College right after high school but after finding out how expensive it was, joined the US Army Reserves March 31, 2003. He completed Basic Combat Training at Ft. Benning, GA and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Redstone Arsenal, AL graduating as an 89B-Ammunition Specialist. Matt was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III (OIF III) and spent 2004-2005 there. He switched to Active component while overseas and upon his return home he was assigned to Ft. Hood TX. Once again he was sent to Iraq, this time for OIF V where he spent 2007. He has a beautiful daughter and a wonderful new wife. He is now out of active service and finishing his obligation in the reserves. Matthew has fronted bands and been in a few musical projects outside the Kansas City area. He has taken some Audio Engineering courses at Kansas City Kansas Community College and opted for Full Sail.
