Amateur and (over) enthusiast.

Back in about 1998 I realised that photography meant more to me than just holiday snaps and was something I wanted to spend more time doing and learning. I started off with a compact Yashica T4 Zoom (film) and a few years later I got into digital with a Sony Cybershot V3 (both long since retired). My first DSLR was a Canon 350D which served me well for about 6 years (still going strong and now being used by my niece) before I upgraded to a Canon 650D. The lenses I was using were Canon's 50mm f1.8, 85mm f1.8 and 40mm 2.8 pancake lens, along with Sigma's 10-20mm f4-5.6.

Kids came along and photography took a bit of a back seat for a while. I shared fewer and fewer pics as they were mainly children, holidays, or children on holiday. Then in 2018 I decided I needed to shake things up a bit, so I sold my Canon gear and bought a Fujifilm X-T3. It was love at first sight and a joy to use. At the moment I'm using their 16mm f2.8, 35mm f2, 56mm f1.2 and an old Russian M42 mount 58mm Helios lens.

Gradually I'm starting to post pics again.
