the professional photography blog

I am a male variation of the species who enjoys all things involving creating. I have been been at various times and in most cases continue to be a musician, singer, writer, photographer, painter, pencilist, sculptor, filmish person and designer. Essentially if it's creative it's had my attention at one time or another.

I am a professional Fine Art/Wedding photographer based out of Nashville TN and Chicago.

I have lived many places in this country, but have only traveled outside it once. I am working on fixing that at some point in the future. I enjoy bold exploits and times of repose in equal measure. I adore a good red wine and being pretentious about music that I love.

Right now my camera gear is comprised of:

Canon Gear:

-Canon 40d SLR

-Canon EOS Rebel K2 film SLR

-Canon A85 digital wunder-toy (this doesn't see as much action these days)

Canon Lenses

-Canon 100mm f/2 Prime

-Canon 50mm f/1.4 Prime

-Canon 28mm f/1.8 Prime

-Sigma 18-50mm Wide Zoom

Other SLR:

-Mamiya 645m Medium format SLR w/ 80mm 2.8 Sekkor-C lens

-Olympus OM-1 Film Manual SLR (this is a gorgeous mint condition gift from my grandfather)

-50mm f/1.4 Prime (This is the most beautiful piece of glass I own. It is amazing)

-28mm f/2.8 Prime

-35mm f/2 Prime

-70-210 Macro Zoom

Other Assorted Cameras:

-Holga 120 Medium format

-Polaroid Pronto! SLR

-Argus a-four manual p&s

-Olympus Pen EE-S p&s (Split frame)

-Lubitel 2 medium format TLR

-Argus skylark 110 instamatic

-Kodak Brownie Hawkeye

and to haul it all around: a Crumpler Tallee camera bag

Well, I've been looking at Matt's photos for some time now. But just recently became a contact. His photos of late have become so much more "something". Not sure what changed - but he's on a roll with his creative vision - or whatever you want to call it. I'm really liking the pinhole and motion work. Matt is a story teller - I always enjoy his photos and what he has to say about them.
