Thanks for visiting my Flickr page and sharing in my love of photography.

I've been into photography since receiving my first 3mp (or was it 4?) Kodak point and shoot way back. From there I moved on to a Fujifilm S7000 and then to my first DSLR, a Canon 350D. My current kit now consists of:

Canon 7D

Canon 10-22mm

Canon 100-400L

Canon 50 f/1.8

Sigma 105mm

Tamron 17-50mm

Kenko extension tubes

Canon 430EX Speedlite

Marumi ND8 filter

I find this kit covers me for just about every situation. My preferred situation? That would be macro photography. It's a world, that to the naked eye, is tiny and uninteresting. Place a common, pesky black house fly in front of a macro lens and the complexity of such a simple insect is amazing. The common jumping spider's personality shines and a praying mantis shows apparent emotions that most people will never notice. The world under our feet is truly special and with patience and the right gear, it's a whole new world to discover.

Feel free to browse around and look at the world as I have seen it. Please don't hesitate to leave a comment or ask a question, I'll be more than happy to answer :o)

Matty is awesome! He's my number one mate on Flickr! Our combined love of macro photography has really cemented our wonderful friendship. Matt's macros are fantastic and he's always got a tale to go with how he found and photographed his creatures which really completes his images. He's got a wonderful sense of humor and has me in hysterics most days. Matts Photoshopped creations are also very unique and very funny, who else would give a little jumping spider a pair of gumboots and an umbrella.hehe. Matts very generous with his time and is always up for a chat and never fails to leave a thoughtful and kind comment on his friends/contacts posts. Flickr wouldn't be the same fun place without him!!

Just Emi says:

Matty is an excellent macro photographer! He terrorises me with close-up, detailed shots of spiders and other critters. He's also an incredibly friendly, funny, approachable person. He's definitely worth following on Flickr! :-)
