A studio course at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA.

This term, the studio course will focus on integrating light and materials in new and innovative ways. Students will explore the expressive nature of materials and their integration with one another, with light, and with space & experience. The course will begin with hands-on explorations of embedding light in a range of materials; investigating how the material properties of flexibility, tactility, and color, synergize with LED lighting technologies. This pure, open-ended research will lay the groundwork for the final project. The final project will focus on applying the materials and light explorations to the hospitality and exhibit design context; to enhance the user’s experience, create a sense of discovery, and explore trends of personalization/customization and interactivity.
