WHO IS OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE AND DONATIONS MATCHMAKER?

 

As introduction, my name is Roseann Higgins. I own a professional matchmaking service headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona named Single Professional Introductions for the Especially Selective ~ SPIES. Community service is one of our pillars.

 

Since 1994, when I started the company, it’s been my job to attend hundreds of business, charity and social events to meet and network with extraordinary men and women and grow a company, finding true loves.

 

The number of people I’ve had wonderful one-on-one conversations with is over 45,000. They could fill a football stadium. And I think they’d have a blast together, no matter who they sat with. If something happens to me, please throw a party and invite them!

 

It has been a natural fit to matchmake people I meet who make a difference with community service projects and causes locally and as far away as Africa, so far.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT RESULTS

Friends have already helped raise and provide over $200,000 in cash and in-kind donations and labor since starting the matchmaking company SPIES in 1994.

 

My company has also sponsored many events.

 

We are launching a new website: www.matchmakingadifference.com soon.

 

Going online is exciting, because it gives projects a home and exposure to more possibilities to make a difference in peoples’ lives.

RECOMMEND A CHARITY, A CAUSE, A RUN, A HIKE, AN EVENT, A PROJECT

Who needs real help? Tell us about it. The best way is to send an email, to start with. I may have to create guidelines so I can narrow the field a little to be the most effective.

 

If it’s something that fits and feels like it could be accomplished among people I know, or worth the chance to check, I can promise a willingness to share it to see who offers to contribute and make a difference together.

 

With CASS (Central Arizona Shelter Services) Emergency Family Shelter, a group of 7 of us arrived to tour and listen to what they needed. A the 3-month project ended with a value of close to $100,000. Those 7 told their friends and strangers about the needs of the shelter and it came together. They thought of ways to help the shelter hadn’t asked for.

 

Hundreds of volunteers donated time, labor, household items, clothing and skills at CASS, helping current and future families who move in every 90 days to their 30 apartments, offices and preschool. Volunteers gave the entire 5 buildings a complete facelift.

HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO HELP?

You do not have to be single to help! You can be married. Volunteering together and as a family builds a great bond.

 

This is a community service operation that has grown from matchmaking. Anyone with a good heart is invited. (No singles organizations, please.) If you happen to be single, people have been known to enjoy meeting fellow volunteers.

 

Everyone who comes has a great heart, already! We have had a wedding result from our community service projects.
