Since 2009 assoc prof petroleum geology in Curtin University, Miri, Sarawak. Moved to Kl in 2012, and in 2015 to Germany
'Matahari' is the poetic Malay word for 'sun' or, more precisely, 'the eye of the sun god,' hence appropriate for light and photography as such. It also stands for the enlightening role photography could play in our global society. My special interest concerns the sky, but I do cherish rock shots, macros, anything in nature and female beauty.
And the icon? It stands for classic values I feel a longing for - noblesse, chivalry, strength, and a lucid sense of loneliness.
