Massachusetts Maritime Academy is a four year, accredited, state university that offers a unique experience structured as a military academy, designed to grow effective leaders and instill in its cadets a strong work ethic, honor, and integrity. Prior to entering the Academy, cadet candidates go through a two week orientation program through which they strengthen personal traits such as integrity, self-discipline, attention to detail, and responsibility. These traits cause Maritime cadets to stand out in the work force as well as in life. Upon graduation, cadets are distinctly qualified to lead as licensed maritime professionals, skilled business managers, ship safety officers, commissioned military officers and more.
