I find landscapes, monuments and nature most fascinating and inspiring to photograph.

Especially those from Australia and Japan.

When visiting Japan, I enjoying staying in Kyoto city for it's rich cultural offerings including the highest concentration of temples and shrines.

Many of these structures have beautiful gardens too, which provides rich subject matter in a relatively close proximity.

I also like the fact that Japan has four distinct seasons and many sub-cultures as this often presents interesting contrasts, colourful and varied subjects to photograph...

In contrast, Australian landscape is vast, hot and dry with unique flora and fauna and also presents many unique opportunities to photograph.

It's cities are modern and multi-racial which can also provide many interesting street moments.

The Melbourne Metropolitan is currently the place I call home... It's a growing, cosmopolitan city with a significant international student population.

It's famous for gardens, sport, the yarra river, trams and a variety of high quality entertainment, shopping and dining.

It also features some nice Victorian, Federation and Contemporary architectural pieces too.

I've been a photographer for about two years and have become more serious in the past six months.

I like to feature details and perspectives, reflections, clouds, contrasts of light and vivid colours in my compositions.

I welcome and appreciate constructive commentary and enjoy discussing many aspects of photography at length.

And it's equally nice to discover other photographers and become acquainted with their works and interests too.

At the moment I favour shooting landscape and architecture in RAW with either my Olympus E-5.

I also enjoy post processing using software such as Photomatix Pro to create higher dynamic range images.

Why is photography one of my interests?

It’s a minimal and powerful medium that can truly inspire and open minds to the beauty of our planet and beyond.

It’s a mix of culture, science and history, which best describes the mystery of nature and existance.

It allows me to capture and share moments of my life (like a personal history page) that would otherwise be lost in time...
