One of the first cameras I used was a Kodak Instamatic 135. Those were the days - shot off a roll of snaps and wait a week for them to come back. Also played with a box brownie...and a 110 format pocket camera - why did they even make those, the image quality was truly appalling?! My first camera to call my own was a Minolta x300, and that was my travel companion for many years (and I still have it). A number of the shots on this site were from that camera. Then came kids and a couple of automatic point and shoot 35mm cameras, but photography started to take a back seat. The advent of a the DSLR got me interested again (after a couple of digital compacts), and the first DSLR was an Olympus E500. A nice little camera to get my interest back up. However after a couple of years and a night school course to whet my appetite it was onto a Nikon D90. I REALLY liked that camera, but unfortunately so did someone else, so they helped themselves to it and it was never seen again. The next (and current camera) is the Canon 50D (yes I'm doing the rounds - maybe Pentax next...?).
