My name is Martin Swaffield, I’m based in the North East of England and I specialise in pet and landscape photography. I have always had a passion for photography but it was only after purchasing my first DLSR, Nikon D60, in 2008 I able to take it up as a serious hobby. Initially, I started photographing local wildlife, but living so close to the amazing North East coastline and Northumberland National Park, I soon began to focus on landscape. I have had the opportunity to capture some stunning scenery around the local area.

More recently, however, my photographic interests have moved back to animals, this time of the canine variety. My wife and I were joined by our second dog and I began documenting the early stages of his life in photographs. This was a challenging, but very worthwhile project. I have quickly expanded my portfolio to include the animal companions of friends and family. I have also had the opportunity to photograph dogs in action at some flyball and agility events. I hope to be out and about doing more of this during the summer

Capturing the character of these animals has been the most satisfying of my projects to date and I plan to take this up to a professional level in the near future. This will be on a part time basis to begin with and I will be looking to expand my portfolio.

Always looking for suggestions how to improve so if you view any pictures please let me know your thoughts on how it could have been improved.

Thanks
