Just an average guy with a camera who sees things differently.......

UK Based (York) amateur photographer, exploring the everyday life of my locality with camera in hand, always looking to find a different perspective. You will also find me on Instagram @himoutdoor and @Sparkymarkymb, also on twitter @sparkymarkymb

I take photos of Nature, skyscapes, transport, and candid street photography for the enjoyment & satisfaction, i’m always prepared to try something new and learn from trial and error often taking inspiration from others. Over time my photography has taken me deeper into nature and wildlife photography. I have for many years tried to improve my little piece of England for the benefit of wildlife & nature.

I’m a bit of a naturalist, I’m not keen on artificial lighting or too much post processing, I am content with cropping and framing.

I sell some of my work online as prints, here: fineartamerica.com/profiles/mark-barratt&affiliateId=...

I am a shutterstock Contributor which means some of my images are available for licensed use here: www.shutterstock.com/g/Mark+Barratt

I've recently (2021) started sharing videos of nature and wildlife in and around my garden on YouTube www.youtube.com/channel/UCJXSnBwujR6Ss3CCj4ArTRA

I’m happy to take what i see in front of me, when and where i can. Most of my photos are taken freehand within a few minutes of my York home. Doing my best with Limited time and budget. If I travel, the camera now goes with me.

before 2008 all images were taken with a 5MP basic camera, but still great fun & excelled in low light.

2008 i treated myself to a new Nikon D60 and my hobby began to develop.

2017 I set myself a challenge to identify and pictorially record as much local (Village) wildlife as I can. please help by identifying / sharing / commenting. if its not there tomorrow how do we know it was here today.

2018) bought a Nikon D7200

2021) bought a full frame Nikon ( but prefer the D7200 for wildlife and wide angle night photography)

i'm consantly looking at others for inspiration, and will accept feedback support from those in the know, Feel free to leave me any comments.

if i have followed you, simply i appreciate your work.

Take care and keep well.

Mark
