The fun of digital photography is in the doing. It is an awakening of the eye to the beauty around you. It combines the intrigue of the hunt with the serendipity of what the world hands to you as a subject. The photographer is given his chance to apply his creativity and capture in an instant, nature’s ever changing artwork.
I enjoy day hiking and a digital camera is my canvas to capture the unique places that I find along the way. There are often many scenic treasures tucked away in these Southern Ohio valleys.
My photos have been used by local water quality groups such as The Greenacres Foundation, Saturday Stream Snapshot water monitor program, Clermont County Watershed Coordinator, Clermont County GIS Department, Little Miami Inc., and Little Miami River Partnership. My photos have been displayed as part of an exhibit at the Dayton Art Institute and the Cincinnati Museum Center. Henke Winery hosted my photography for two months in an exhibit entitled, “Beauty in You Own Backyard, Tributaries of the Little Miami River.”
If you wish to publish my photos, let me know. I like to know where they are being used. I also appreciate a credit line under the photo. If you need a high resolution photo or additional photos of a particular subject, I will be glad to work with you.
If you need portraiture work, engagement photos, commercial product photography, event photography, or real estate photography with GPS coordinates included, contact me.
Currently, I am looking for faces with character, pets that make you smile, kids at play, bodybuilders, unique cars, motorcycles, local waterfalls, pieces of Americana, and large or gruesome trees. I am also endeavoring to create photos that tell a story in the tradition of Norman Rockwell’s fabulous illustrations.
Recently, I have been drawn to portrait and studio work, with a slant towards black & white photography. To that end, I have equipped myself with a portable studio.
Compensation:
If I am getting paid; you will get paid.
If you are getting paid; I should get paid.
Photos for your composite card can be provided at a reasonable price.
I am also for hire for engagement photos, portraiture, family photos, and product photography.
Artistic projects are my passion and when an idea intrigues me, I will find a way to make it happen. On these colaborative projects, I supply my equipment and experience; you share your time and beauty in exchange for a CD of the final edited (hi-res) photos (TFCD.) A copyright release is provided so that you can have them printed wherever you prefer.
Use of Photos:
I post to Flickr and Model Mayhem. A model release is preferred. I always respect your wishes, practice discretion when it is needed, and will remove photos if requested.
Photo Shoots:
A meeting prior to a shoot will always result in better photos. It is a chance to get to know each other, discuss location, wardrobe, and to decide the style and tone of the upcoming shoot.
During a shoot, my wife often acts as my assistant. You are always welcome to bring a friend. Typical duration is 2.5 to 3 hours. Editing and final photos will follow about two weeks later.
I am seeking people for the following projects:
People that are creative with their look, tattoos, beards, piercings, etc. I like an edge to my photos.
A woman with long blonde hair and flowing lace dress for photos on the steps of the Athenaeum.
Nature shots in local waterfalls (be a strong hiker)
Female or male bodybuilders (green screen modeling)
Sports shots
People with unique hobbies for B&W photos.
Women with vintage clothing and who wear it well. (green screen and location)
Female models for rat rod and vintage car shoots.
Ice cream eating.
If we are not having a few laughs, we are not doing it right. Have a fun idea, let me know!

Mark's photos show us that the area we live in has many hidden treasures waiting to be found. He has a knack for going out and getting the best shots of places that could be right out your back door, but you may not have ever gone to see yourself. I have actually felt that the area was more beautiful through his eyes (photos) than I originally saw it myself and I've lived here all my life! Thanks for capturing the beauty all around us and reminding us that it's there!
Read lessMark is an intelligent guy, somewhat of a visionary. His landscapes speak of that love for beauty and for life. And just as I expected, this attitude of him shows in some truly gorgeous woman portraits too ! Enjoy, and give the man some comments!
