We, mari-ten, are a married couple living in Japan (first Mie Prefecture, now Tokyo)

We started using Flickr in 2009, but are still not entirely caught up to the present day in terms of uploading our pics to Flickr. We used to be years behind, now we're only about six months behind so that is an improvement. One day we'll be all caught up, but there's a lot of organizing, reviewing, tagging, and captioning to do before that happens.

Having lived in Japan for more than 8 years with ample local travel opportunities, we have both taken many pictures and have a growing interest in photography as Japan is an absolutely amazing place to take in the beauty of the world.

Over the years, it has become clear that our favorites pictures are those of natural beauty (especially in which water is present) as well as feats of human engineering (bridges, trains, etc), with a penchant for cute animals and food pictures as well.
