So you want to know a little more...

 

My name is Marissa and I'm 28 years old from Central New Jersey. I've been creating and doodling for as long as I can remember and then I picked up a camera. I toyed around with a friends DSLR one day a few years ago, and I went out and bought my first Nikon two days later. I’m completely head over heels in love with photography and I believe that I’ve finally discovered my true passion. I can’t find any other way to describe how I feel about photographing except to equate it to how it feels to fall in love for the very first time. I basically view my life through the lens.

 

After High School, I attended art school at the Art Institute of Philadelphia with a major in Graphic Design. I have absolutely no clue what made choose graphic design as a major but I ended up hating it. After a year and a half, I made the choice to leave school. I could easily look back now and say that I wish I would have known of my love for photography back then but that doesn’t do me any good. I think that it was more that I didn’t like being graded and judged on what others thought of my work.

 

I currently work corporate full time and on the side I'm in the process of starting my own business specializing in child and lifestyle photography. I love the innocence that comes from photographing children and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.

 

I’m completely self-taught and have soooo much to learn. I have an endless amount of questions and knowledge to gain and am often frustrated by what I don’t know. I am here to learn as much as I can and welcome all critiques and advice.
