Hello,

I have been taking SLR pictures since the age of 17. I started in High School in Whitehall Ohio in Mr. Anderson's Photography class. As a teenager I became very interested in my uncle's old b&w photos from WWII when he was a POW in Germany. I later joined the USAF and pursued a career in Avionics where photography became my favorite hobby. My first real 35mm was a Pentax K1000. I then quickly upgraded to a Super ME with a winder. I shot hundreds of rolls of film from black and white to Kodachrome 25. Later on I added the medium format Yashica Mat 124G to my arsenal of shooting choices. During my four years active duty in the Northeast, I enjoyed shooting numerous nature and scenic shots. I also photographed several weddings of friends,family and co-workers.

My favorite shots have been of Nature and Landscapes. One of my Uncles, inspired me in many ways with the outdoors. His expertise at identifying birds and their many warbles has even amazed some of the naturalist that he has had contact with at Blacklick woods in Columbus, Ohio.

After being married for a couple years in the mid 80's, the film camera took a backseat in the closet shelves. Wonderful blessings of children came into my life. My wife and I now spend all our free time raising these wonderful little human beings. The video camera then became more important to capture the moment with our children involved in sports, dance, music and so on. Photographs of sunsets, weddings, and waterfalls obviously took a back seat.

Now after sometime, and playing with many point & shoot digital cameras for the last several years, I switched to the Nikon family of digital cameras. I bought my first D50 in May of 2006, and March of 2008 upgraded to a D80. So far I've taken over 100k digital pics in last 4 years and the count keeps climbing. In February 09 I upgraded again to the magnificent D90.

Now that the nest is starting to empty, I now spend my spare time taking semi-professional shots of friends, family, co-workers at various outdoor studio (local metro parks) locations all though out the central Ohio area.

As a self taught photographer with over 30 years of experience, I'm always very excited and have a deep passion about taking that next shot. Many authors have inspired me to expose & compose a more creative shot: Bryan Peterson, Joe McNally, John Hedgecoe, David Ziser, Patrick Rice, Rick Sammon, Jim Miotke, Scott Kelby, and dozens of others. I give all the credit though, to the Lord for the many blessing that he has given me including my eyesight and creative mind to capture the magnificent eye-candy pictures that God has blessed all of us with.

Photography is not my full time job, so I consider myself a passionate dedicated Hobbyist with professional results at very affordable prices.
