My interest in railways started in 1980 in Ayr , a couple of bored teenagers took a trip down to the local railway station whilst on a family holiday and the bug was well and truly caught .

A couple of years later in 1983 I joined the South Yorkshire Ambulance as a 16yr old and started a journey which would last 39yrs until my retirement from the front line in 2022.

Throughout that time the railways has not only be a hobby but a welcome distraction on more days than I care to mention. I look forward to more discovery of this hobby of ours , but we all know it’s more than that.

All images are produced in the camera where possible I don’t use Photoshop , Lightroom or any noise reduction software for night shots. Editing is done using the basic functions of Canons own DPP 4 software .
