In terms of photography, I am a shite photographer - I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing.....BUT....I think I have a very good eye (does everybody say that?!). I'm shooting on a "point and shoot" Minolta DiMage Xt

My father was a photographer. I remember he had this very cool James Bond- like titanium looking camera that was like 8 inches long and thin like a cigar and he kept it in his pocket at all times. This was back in the 60s-70s, so you can imagine how cool he was. I got onto Flickr because I found a cache of thousands of slides after my father had died. I had them for a few years before I decided to go through them. I just wasn't ready. While my dog was recovering from surgery (he swallowed a ball and had to have it surgically removed...$4,000 later....) I had some time on my hands while I was staying home and nursing him. I finally got brave enough to go through the boxes and boxes of slides. Some were loaded on those carousels that you used on the projector, and some were in their own boxes. He was big on taking scenery pictures. "Here's the left side of the beach, here's the right side of the beach, here's this building, here's that building, here's the 100th sunset...", blah, blah. I wanted family pictures. That's really all I was concerned with. And, of course, pictures of me. SO......I went thru them, edited them into time lines, and places, placed hundreds of them in the scanner......and voila'.

My brother turned me onto Flickr and now I'm kinda addicted.

My pics suck compared to my dad's pictures from the 60s and 70s. I used to hate it when he was ALWAYS taking pictures.....now I am so grateful. I also found these insanely cool "stereo" slides that are in 3-D. I also have the viewer. I went through hundreds of those, wittling out the scenery and kept the family pictures. These are bloody priceless...but you can only view them thru the 3-D viewer....they don't exactly translate onto the 'puter. Does anyone know how I can get other people to view these without sitting in my living room using the viewer!!?

OK, that's all for now. I think you get the picture
