"All photographs are accurate. None of them is the truth.", said once Richard Evadon, a famous american portrait photographer. The more I photograph through out my life, the more accurate I realize this quote is. A photograph is an interpretation of what you see, hear, smell, feel. Because there is no equal way of representing the absolute truth, a copy cat image of what you and I see, standing from the very same point, looking at the very same direction, photography is you very best personal interpretation of light, form, pattern, color, and all the other elements that composes an image. There is a purpose to a photograph, a goal, drawn from the very beginning, a process that begins from the discovery of the object by the photographer to the darkroom, where he or she shapes the image to become his or her interpretation of reality. I think there is no good or bad photo, no good or bad way to shoot, just different ways of expressing feelings and emotions, ways that can be identifiable by more or less viewers, according to your capacity as a photographer to transmit a message and their ability to understand it.

My emotions are drawn in a picture in some occasions the explicit way, in others the subtle way, and because I'm a hobbyist photographer, who enjoys expressing my idea of reality through imaginary, the constant learning of new ways of expressing the almost absolute truth through accurate images is a constant trip, one I hope never to have an end.

John Gollings once said to me, I should never become a professional photographer, because it is soul destroying. That is exactly what I think about photography: having a soul to express your interpretation of reality through a picture, be it in black and white or color, digital or film, big or small.
