I am an amateur photographer, my day work is a scientist and my weekends and evenings are spent with my wife and 2 boys - they give me a lot of inspiration in painting and drawing and my hand at photography.

I started photography in my teens with my paper route money. I bought a Pentax Spotomatic SLR and a Durst F60 enlarger. I then would take over my mother's laundry room discovering black and white photography. It was the best skill I ever learned - my university thesis was on fluid flows and I needed to take a lot of pictures - the pictures were spectacular for fluid vortex shedding (if I say so myself) but that was a photographic technical achievement - not an artistic one.

Over the years since I have used point and shoot cameras to capture moments (2 film based and 4 digital ones - 3 Fuji's and one Olympus). It was not until recently with Christmas 2007 that a digital SLR found its way (thanks to my wife) into my hands!! Hence my adventure which was interrupted in my 20's is now about to start again! Let the fun begin!
