I am an independent conceptual artist working in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, since the early 1990s. I have been developing multiple concepts from conceptual art & design to modeling and visualization.

With my photostream I am reconstructing the development of my work as an artist since the 1980s. By then I was destined to become an engineer. I had followed in my fathers footsteps, and was studing mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Delft. Around 1986 my doubts about my destiny made me start experimenting with art. Eventually in my final year at university in 1990 I made up my mind to become an artist. Early 1990s I started my new career after an other year at the Rotterdam Academy of Arts.

My photostream is developing into a Gesamtkunstwerk expressing the interrelationship between art, the artist, the people and society. Indefenetly lines of the past cross, people meet and life goes on. The leitmotiv in every life is the search for meaning and meaningfulness.

More than two decades into the digital age not only information but life it self is scattered into numerous fragments, bits of peaces of information. For the modern artist it is essential to work on product, presentation and representation. In the information age the boundaries between these media are dissolving. In the collection of albums and the arrangements of every single album wants to restore some of the fragmentation.
