Photography, always fascinating, has however never moved much beyond the hobby stage for me. In the late 70's I dabbled a little in the dark room developing monochrome film. In the 80's and 90's I took my SLR everywhere when backpacking and hitch hiking around Europe and Asia.

Nowadays it allows me a bit of relaxation away from the pressures of work and family life. A nice sunrise or sunset in a remote place after a couple of hours of hiking allows for a lot of contemplating and putting order back into the chaos of life. Simply aiming to get a few travel snapshots give an excuse to seek out that little bit extra during a standard work trip abroad. My collection of images on this forum is just that. Snapshots made to escape the drudgery.
