My deepest wish has always been to become a Graphic Designer. It is an art constantly evolving with our society, using several techniques to experiment and produce new ideas. It helps me understand others and best express my will to demonstrate, convince, claim, and entertain. Visual communication allows me to use my varied experiences and inspirations in order to step out loud and clear.

Following my parents’ career path, I had the opportunity to live in different countries, such as India or Italy. I experienced different ways to live, think, and create. Neither choked nor scared by change, I absorbed and learned from a variety of cultures and lifestyles. It had a huge impact on the person I was becoming.

I found new ways to express myself, and realized the importance of visual communication. Cultural differences taught me to observe the world from a different angle allowing me to overcome barriers.

While it has always been anchored in my family’s lifestyle, I followed closely my Aunt’s debut in Graphic Design. It became clear that I had to dive into this artistic field. I gained a special interest towards photography as it witnessed my life journey. Through my readings, art classes, and research, my curiosity rose towards the History of Graphic Design and quickly became an essential source of inspiration and knowledge. I provided myself with a variety of tools to understand and create visual messages. I feel so passionate about it that I’ve decided to continue and become a graphic design student.

At the age of seventeen, pushed by my motivation and dreams, I left my parents’ home in Chennai, India to study art back in France. I enrolled the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, a general art school, to discover other media and fields. In my free time, I worked as a graphic designer’s assistant to witness and learn from real life, which confirmed my desire to become one myself. Working by her side, I’ve gained experience, moving closer to this aspiration. I changed school and joined the Ecole Superieure d’Art et de Design in Amiens, France, to get a more precise graphic education. As I confronted myself to the fossilized French system, I had to process and accept that, through my path, I was no longer a conformed student but a worldwide apprentice looking for new knowledge. English is the language I feel more comfortable with, as I spent many years in an expatriate environment and graduated from an American International School after spending three years there.

Alphonse de Lamartine once said, “Experience is the only prophecy of wise men”. I always seek for new challenges to experiment and learn, as it is a background resource that builds my work. I realized I felt more comfortable being in an international environment to grow from its diversity and feed my curiosity with other cultural resources. I feel that I have subsequently grown stronger from my experiences and I’m willing to share it with others through graphic design, bringing my energy, creativity and motivation to new visual experimentations. Studying in the United Kingdom will give me the chance to work in a modern structure to learn and create with others in a culturally diversified environment. I’m convinced that joining this course will enable me to flourish creatively and achieve my goal of becoming a professional graphic designer.
