Please ask for permission before using my photos for any reason :)
My images have been used by non-profit organizations, blogs and several commercial projects. I also have prints of my work available for anyone interested. Please contact me through email if you'd like to use or purchase one of my photos.
I am known as many things: Artist, Graphic Designer, Light-Collector, Sign Maker, and Creative Professional. Take your pick :)
Obsessed with photography and creativity. My photography covers a wide variety of subject matter and photo styles. I tend to think of my camera as a journal and sketchbook where I can record anything I come across that strikes me as interesting.
My photos are also the story of my life. Pictures are windows to the past and I treat them as such. I'm also mainly a natural light photographer. Flash has it's place, but most of the time it's off on my camera.
Candid shots are fun and while I can appreciate a snapshot with everyone smiling, I try to catch the natural expressions and emotions in people. I want the camera to show what I see instead of having everyone turn to me as soon as I raise it up.
I also enjoy the digital darkroom workflow. I find serenity in editing images on my computer. It's therapeutic for me in a way. Some shots are great straight out of the camera and I will occasionally force myself to not edit them and leave them as is.
This is where I share all of my photography so I occasionally flood my photostream with recent photos of family events, travels and the like.
I find a lot of inspiration from the Flickr community. I hope my photos can serve as an inspiration to others as well.
Equipment I use for the curious:
Nikon D800
Nikon D300
Nikkor 50mm ƒ/1.4 (my favorite lens)
Nikkor 35mm ƒ/1.8
Nikkor 35mm ƒ/2.0
Nikkor 28 - 300mm
Nikkor 80 - 200mm ƒ2.8
Tokina 11mm-16mm f/2.8 Wide Angle
Canon Powershot G10
Apple iPhone 4s
Nikon FE2 (really old hand me down film camera, but it's the camera I used throughout my schooling and I learned everything about photography with it. Digital cameras are becoming more like computers and almost obsolete after 5 years. This baby still captures magnificent photos.)
A steady hand & an eye for natural lighting.
