BIOGRAPHY
Born 1949 in Badalona, Barcelona.
Studies Journalism at CIC Barcelona.
1971. Freelance journalist for various newspapers and magazines in Barcelona and Madrid.
1975. Studies photography at the center of Joaquín Muntaner in Barcelona.
1976. Barcelona. Photos of a demonstration for freedom that become an iconographic reference of political transition in Spain. They are published in Paris Match, The New York Times, Newsweek, Time, Nouvel Observateur, News Reporter, Der Spiegel, Stern, etc.. and in many books and newspapers over the last 38 years.
1976-80. Absolutely involved in photography, mostly interested in social and documentary. Working for editorial and press.
1977-78. U.S. correspondent for weekly spanish magazines Interviú and Primera Plana.
1979 Visited China for Playboy magazine Spain Edition. At that time China was an unknown country.
1980. First photo exhibition at Spectrum-Canon Gallery, Barcelona.
1981. Rents a studio in Casa Milà, La Pedrera, Antonio Gaudi architect. Barcelona.
Convalescence from a serious accident that prevented him to continue working in journalism. After the accident: "I am no longer a picture hunter, now I am fishing images"
Start Night-Photography of the chimneys and architectural forms at the roof of La Pedrera.
1985-2000. Assignments for publishers and institutions: architectural photography and illustration as Casa Vogue, Connaissance des Arts, Architecture db. Books: Crafts in Spain, Sepharad-Sefarad, Barcelonas, Domus Isozaki,
1985. Start the series: Allegories of Fire mostly inspired by the essays about cosmogonies and anthropology of Sir James Frazer, Gaston Bachelard, and others..
1987. Publication of the book El Jardí dels Guerrers - The Garden of Warriors by Editorial Lunwerg in (8 languages) with night shots of La Pedrera.
1989. Starting the series of "Fantastic Architecture" looking for the atmospheres of Art Nouveau (Modernism) architecture in Barcelona. A collaboration with Barcelona's University (UPF) Medieval Literature professor Victoria Cirlot.
1993. Elements Series: Wind, Water, Earth. Revisiting the darkroom after a dozen years.
Associate Professor of Photography and Edition at the Department of Journalism in the UAB, Bellaterra University, Barcelona.

2000_03. Travel to New York, Nepal, Dahramsala in India, Tokyo. Articles and exhibitions.
2001. Publication of the books Voices of water and Memories of Winds
by Word Editorial Shiseido, Tokyo, and poems by Elia Taniguchi.
2003. Travel to Iceland. Landscape photographs in b/w, medium and large formats and gelatin silver printed.
2004. Performing Herbarium, large format b/w negative.
Associated Lecturer at Journalism Dept. at Pompeu Fabra University Barcelona.
The MNAC (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya) adquires several photographs for the Permanent Collection.
2005. Exhibition "Retrats d'Herbes" in the Botanical Institute of Barcelona.
2006. Starting b/w series Stones from Heaven (work in progress).
Editing the photographs of HERBARIUM book.
2007. Publication of the book HERBARIUM, with an essay by Margaret Hooks, published by Turner Publishing, Madrid. Presentation at Fundació Colectania, Barcelona
Photographic work An Alphabet between the stones for the CRDI, Centre per a la Recerca i Difussió de la Imatge of the City of Girona.
2008. New trip to Iceland to complete the work begun in 2004.
Preparation and publication of the book Cirlot en Vallcarca, Editorial Alpha-Decay, with texts by Juan Eduardo Cirlot and Victoria Cirlot (work done in the early 90s).
.2009. Publication of the book TERRAE, photographs in b/w taken in the travels to Iceland in 2003 and 2008, with an Essay by the british art critic Mark Gisbourne Immanence as Plenitude
.December 31 takes the first photographs with a pinhole camera in the Cap de Creus in Catalonia, a symbolic start to the new year.
2010. VOYAGE IN BLUE speaks about an imaginary travel evoking the Odysseus adventures and her return to Ithaka. To highlight the idea of the imaginary was used a pinhole camera with tungsten light film. Blue as color and a wide angle view, refering to the imaginary images of a dream.
Starts a documentary project The life of the Acient Olive Trees in the Mediterranean, looking to find the oldest olive trees around the mediterranean countries, with the idea related to the "sacred tree" as union and relationship between the people and mediterranean cultures.
Travelled to Sardinia, Sicily and Puglia in Italy; Empordà, Castellón and Tarragona in Spain; the Ionian Islands in Greece.
2011. More travels to find ancient olive trees. Visit Córdoba, Jaén, Granada and Malaga in Spain; Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and the Peloponnese in Greece. Create two parallel blogs: OLEA documentary work [oli-olea.blogspot.com.es/], and travel notes in MEDITERRANEAE [mediterraneae.blogspot.com.es/]
2012. Visit Aegean Turkey, Tunisia, Spain coast Mastership in Lebanon and Aegina island in Greece and Crete (at this point is suspended the sponsorization of the project and remains unfinished until would arrive best times)
