I enjoy taking photographs, have done since my dad gave me a box Brownie when I was eight (in the early 1960s if you must know), and was soon developing them in the bathroom - er - darkroom.

I started a photography society at school so I had a darkroom there to waste my lunchtimes, and I migrated to a Nikkormat SLR in the 1970s - as soon as I could afford it - and haven't stopped since, although there was a lull in the 1990s when digital photography came along but proper cameras didn't become affordable until the mid-2000s. They've always been Nikons though...

I enjoy shooting oddities, landscapes, shapes and textures - and sometimes people too: they're the hardest. What I look for most though is the light, so I like think of taking an image as painting a picture using available light. That's the theory anyway.
