Artist, illustrator and teacher from Zeeland, the Netherlands, finding inspiration in the nature in my own little world, science and the systems theory in particular.
I observe and record nature almost on a daily basis. I try to keep track of everything that lives in my little world and it’s fascinating, for what happens in my own little world is a direct reflection of what happens in our greater global natural system.
My most important instrument for observing nature is photography. I shoot to identify. And where possible I try to shoot as visually appealing as I can. I work with simple gear:
- Samsung S9 smartphone
- Blackeye wide angle and macro phone lenses
- Lumix FZ82 for 60x optic zoom and surprisingly good macros
- Canon G7X for video and black&white
- Nikon D5100 for landscapes, skies and light. Saving for better lenses and macro and micro gear.
Aside from keeping track I use the inspiration I get in nature in my art, most times heavily larded with a bulk of imagination.
