Visual Diary...
I started on Flickr in 2007 with a small digital camera that, as far as I am concerned was the best model I have ever used. (Canon / PowerShot SD750...also known as Digital IXUS 75, IXY Digital 90)
This little inexpensive camera could do so many amazing things that I have not yet been able to push any of my other cameras.
The one negative aspect to this little camera, that I had no idea of back then was how sensitive digital cameras are to sun spotting.
Before moving over to a digital camera I had spent many years using film cameras which were far too expensive to experiment with and could never find an economical way of getting them printed in their correct colour spectrums.
Digital photography allowed me the opportunity to finally explore many different inspirational pathways continuously inspiring my art practices as well as using the internet to finally get an audience for genuine feedback.
Flickr community all over the world at that time was a very new phenomena and for me an artistic revolution.
Not only being able to share images with a world audience and be able to write up my thoughts and ideas in public arena I was able to see and observe all those other creative souls works ideas.
It was a creative revolution for me after being so cut off from the worlds creative communities as living as I was isolated on the furthers side of Australia.
I continued exploring how and what could be accomplished through digital photograph and the amazing free Picasa photographic editing program mainly with the supper-imposing tool.
It was in 2011 after a visit to the Fremantle Asylum building now an art centre that I just had to attempt to create what I had seen on the asylum stair case that I stumbled across the amazing art of superimposing images to unit both the physical and spiritual elements that I was always seeing.
All of my art practices over my life time were speaking to or reflecting that edge of unity between both the physical and spiritual realms.
2011 was also the year I realised I could make my digital diary online.
Flickr has allowed the best internet platform for all my visual records as well as my written accounts.

Terri is one of my oldest Flickr friends and in 2008 I was lucky to meet her twice, once in Fremantle and once in Barwon Heads. A trip through Terri's photostream is a journey on so many levels that the mind boggles: physical beauty, mental challenges, spiritual insights and emotional hurdles. Mostly though it is her love of country which awes me. A powerful lady wose work must be visited and revisited. Bless you Terri.
