As a flickr friend, I am delighted to be writing a few thoughts about Mamoru's work. His stream keeps my feelings and memories of Tokyo alive, because of his upbeat, sympathetic, and quietly beautiful style--- it's like having a soft jazz album playing in the morning, a true delight. Unlike many other photographers online who just upload photos impersonally, Mamoru is out there with his work, he is open, earnest, and candid with his thoughts, wishes, concerns---a real heart beats in his stream. He photographs those whom he loves: family, pets, things he finds beautiful, and all of his subjects are extremely positive, which just shows his own self therein. His stream is always a good station to stop at. You come away with something of the virtues and feelings of goodness and ideals that he espouses. I hope one day we will be able to have a photobook of his family photographs, they are valuable.

Could it be the easy friendly way we communicate or our shared love of family and friends, definitely our shared love of contrasty images. I guess all of the above and more! Some people you just connect with and a kind of magic occurs! That’s the way I feel about the Yasuda family and Mamoru. His images clearly portray a fascination of life and love for all those he’s close to. I log on impatiently anticipating what wondrous windows he will open into his World and I am proud to call him my friend!

It was a thrill to find some one who shares a same way of looking at things especially about our children. His constant love to his daughters and wife shines forth in his family pictures. I look forward every day to see his photograph. May your daughters be the incessant source of energy for you Yasuda-san. I am so happy to be able to call you a friend.
