I'm an amateur photographer who enjoys driving around the countryside snapping interesting photos. I got really involved in photography a couple of years ago when my dad, a really great photographer, passed away and I took possession of his camera.

The first couple of thousand photos in my collection bear the tag "c.w.thomas", and they are the scanned photos and slides that my dad left behind; I put them on Flickr so that my family, along with everyone else, could see them. Then I started taking my own photos with his Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ20; the camera and Photoshop do all of the work, really, but I do have an eye for the unusual, the abandoned, sometimes the picturesque - so my pictures reflect an amateur's craft, but my own perspective on what is interesting to look at.

My husband and I moved in August 2008 from Houston to New Albany, IN, where my youngest daughter graduated from Indiana University - South.. I'm loving the small town life, and southern Indiana is a beautiful place to live - I'll never get tired of driving around and snapping pictures. I hope it doesn't show, but most of my photos are taken from car windows because I don't get around by foot much anymore.

Originally a Memphian, LSU grad (twice), 2 grown daughters, married my college sweetheart 5 years ago after we were both in our fifties. Nothing is stranger than life itself!
